| Well, XC has officially started and I couldn't be happier. I came thinking that it would be a nice easy day to work back into the running formula. NOPE! Coach had us running five miles at 7:30 pace and it was awful. First day back and it is kicking my butt. Note to Self: Don't eat chocolate granola bars before run.

| Second day back and it was harder than yesterday. I seriously couldn't get to sleep last night and was really sore this morning. Same result as yesterday too, fell behind during the last mile and a half. Goal: keep up the entire time. I am not going to be here until saturday because I am going to Youth Conference but I will do my best to keep running.

| Well, I missed a few days because I went to youth conference and didn't get to run. But I am back now and ran the ridge today, normal route, but my asthma started to kick in about the mile and a half mark and I fell behind. After I got over it I started to catch back up, but I was too far behind to go completely. I need to take a puff before I run. And need to find something to eat before I run in the morning.

| Another six miles and 7:30 pace, but it felt easier today. We went on the back trails where we normally go and went out 3 then back 3. I took a puff this time and it did help, but I didn't take it soon enough because I fell behind again, but not as far as before. Still need to find something to eat in the morning. Kids camp was today, I was in the fourth and fifth grade group. Really, really hyper little kids, we played tag and sharks and minnows. Also I went to Acceleration, so Bonus Mile!

| Another six miles today, we went on the backside of the ridge after we started out on our normal route. I took a puff before the warmup and I was able to keep up the entire time! I am going to start to try to eat something in the morning.

| Eight miles today. we went out onto the Arizona strip today and ran. The first half mile is brutal. Loose gravel with a slight uphill. You can't get any traction. The group also started out at 7:20 pace and I could not stay with them on the gravel. I talked to Ben on the way back and he said it is an unconcious reaction to running with people, you naturally speed up. But again, I was too far behind to catch up completely. I am going to Acceleration today to build speed, so that should give me an extra mile.
